More Friday Follies I: It’s Better On a Stick

For a while now I’ve been enjoying a newsie site about food that I heartily recommend: Slashfood. Seems they have a sense of humor as well as style. Not to mention photos, recipes and cookbook reviews! How can you go wrong with that? Some recent posts from Slashfood:

In international news, it seems that chickens in Canada won a recent battle that we “Southerners” didn’t even know was going on. Kentucky Fried Chicken has given in to pressure from interest groups, most notably PETA, and will now use “only chicken from suppliers with improved animal welfare.” I guess we’ll see more of our feathered food heading north in search of better living conditions and less pain. Thank You, Pamela Anderson!

A recent report details what must be the best food ever to grace a wooden twig: French-Fry Coated Bacon on a Stick. Can you say atherosclerosis? Sometimes, food experiments should be left to the professionals…
