Man Does Not Live By Chiles Alone: A New Chile Underground Feature, the F-BOM

Chiles are essential to life. Well, would you believe, they’re essential to good taste? Okay, to food that tastes good.

Some foods. Okay, okay, you’ve made your point. Not ALL foods. Just the stuff I eat most of the time. There, you happy now? (No, I don’t really have my feelings hurt. I just decided to cry so I can wash my cheeks. Here’s your sign.)

Just to show I’m a nice guy, no hard feelings and all that, I’m going to drop an F-BOM on you. That’s right, a big, fat F-BOM.

Which stands for Food Blog of the Month.

What, you were thinking something else? Shame on you! I told you I was a nice guy! All you have to do is listen to me from now on…

You listening? Here’s what I have to say. The Inaugural Chile Underground F-BOM Award goes to the interesting food blog (drum roll, please!) –

I Shot the Chef

Any food site that has the subtitle of “Eat, Drink, Burp” is close to my ideal; yours too, I bet. But wait, there’s more! Candace, the owner of the blog, is a classically trained and very skilled chef. That doesn’t stop her from talking about Real Food, however. For Real Men. Stuff like–

As you can clearly see, if only by the titles, Candace (and her colorful site) deserves this singular honor. Singular, you ask? Well, according to an exhaustive Google Search (at least two search terms, including several clicks on the “I Feel Lucky” button), there are no other “Food Blog of the Month” awards out there! I’m the first to offer, and Candace is the first to win! So there…

Thanks for the kind words! I’m a bit behind you on posts (almost 100 so far), as I took about 4 months off this spring for teaching. But I’m getting there!
