Coming soon to Lafayette, Louisiana, is one of the major festivals in the whole culinary world: The Boudin Cook-Off. When, exactly, you ask? Well, don’t go to their website for that answer; it’s not there. Google will tell you it’s on the 17th, at Parc Sans Souci.
It’s only a one-day event, but there will be lots going on. Starting at a leisurely 10 AM with tastings for the adults and games for the kids, the frivolity intensifies with the Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Pig contest beginning at 10:30. Music also begins at 10:30 with The Specklers, and continues up until 2:45 PM; that’s when they have to stop the dancing to announce the prizes, you see. There will be a boudin eating contest, of course; and roast pig will be available at 1 PM from Al Simon’s Cajun Microwaves.
About twenty teams are entered in the cookoff contest, so there will be plenty of things to taste and the competition will be fierce. So stop on by and enjoy a little bit of Cajun food with your fun!
Enjoy the (Ca C’est Bon Boudin) Heat!
