This was just too yummy to pass up! Everybody knows that everything tastes better with bacon. Shoot, they even wrap filet mignon with bacon, and if bacon can make that taste better, then you KNOW it’s magical stuff. (It’s so powerful that even some Jews want it.) Still, after a few thousand plates of ordinary bacon (in the past few weeks, we mean) at breakfast, maybe you’re bored with it. The color, I mean. Brown. (Maybe black, if my wife cooked it.) More brown. Brown, brown, brown.
Well, your days of boredom are numbered! Neil Caldwell, a graphics designer, has invented the ultimate cure for breakfast ennui. Colored Bacon!

That’s right folks. In case you’re not getting your daily allotment of fat and salt first thing in the day, you can now get dyes and colorants as well! Neil’s not saying what his process is (although he released the photos above). Those colors, including red, green and purple, must be some industrial-strength stuff! Frying the bacon doesn’t destroy the color. ( I won’t ask if digestion does.)
So now we have to ask; What next, Neil? Green Eggs and Ham? (Been done.) Quiche in individual ramekins, all different shapes like stars and moons? (Don’t we have a cereal for that?) Ham that smells like chicken? Dogs and cats living together?? Whatever’s in the future, I’m sure we’ll be surprised. In the meantime, you can look forward to your new Rainbow Scramble, with a side of blue pancakes or something…
