Breaking News: Tomorrow is the day the whole world celebrates porridge! Considered the national breakfast of Scotland (among other glamorous locales), this dish of cooked, rolled oats feeds millions every morning.
Unless they get real food, of course. Or skip breakfast entirely.
In any case, if you’re of a mind, drag out that long-neglected box of oatmeal in the morning and whip up a big ol’ batch of porridge and join the wild merriment. Add milk, brown sugar, and fruit or anything else that’ll help hide the intrinsic flavor before digging in. I’m sure I’ll be press-ganged into making some for the wifey, who has fond childhood memories of the stuff for some reason…
